Booking systems, portals and staff tools

The website is the shopfront. This is the thing behind it: the roster, the booking diary, the client login, the quoting tool. It's the part that decides whether Saturday morning is quiet or spent texting thirty people one at a time.

what you get

  • Rosters and shift tools

A shift built once, landing on every phone at the same moment. Little John and Co place festival crews across Canterbury on one.

  • Client logins and galleries

Every customer sees their own thing and nothing else (proofs, files, statements, approvals), so they stop ringing you to ask for it again.

  • Bookings and diaries

Take the booking on the page, at the price on the page, without the back-and-forth that loses half of them.

  • Quoting and job intake

A form that asks the three questions you'd have rung to ask anyway, so a quote arrives ready to price instead of ready to chase.

  • Wholesale and members

Trade pricing behind a login, so a restaurant orders at two in the morning without an email chain.

  • Monitoring, fixes and four hours a month

Somebody watching it, and standing time each month to keep making it better rather than only keeping it alive.

where we’d say no

This is the expensive end and it should be. If a $40-a-month tool already does what you need, we will tell you that and send you to it. A custom build is something you own forever, and owning something forever is only worth it when nothing off the shelf fits.

what it costs

Quoted on the job. Build from $4.5k, then $349 a month on The works, or a higher monthly over 24 months with no build fee.

what people ask

Isn't there already an app that does this?
Usually, and if it fits we'll say so. What we build is for the businesses that keep bending themselves around a tool instead: three subscriptions, two spreadsheets and a group chat holding the whole thing together, and nobody able to say where the actual answer lives.
How much does a custom system cost?
The build starts around $4.5k and is quoted on what it actually has to do, then it's $349 a month on The works. If the build fee is the problem, you can skip it and go on a higher monthly over 24 months instead. Same money in the end, easier on the till.
Who owns the data?
You do, and you can have it out in a standard format whenever you ask. That isn't a favour we're doing you, it's the condition of us being worth ringing again next year.
What happens when it breaks at 6am on a Saturday?
You ring, and you get the person who built it. That's the whole argument for a studio this size and it's the part a larger shop genuinely cannot sell you: there's nobody here for a ticket to be passed to.
Can it talk to Xero, our POS, or the thing we already use?
Often, if it has an API worth talking to. Bring it up at the first yarn rather than in week three, because whether it does or doesn't is usually the single biggest line in the quote.
How long does a system take to build?
Seven to nine weeks for the ones on this site, website included. You see it working long before that: the parts that run the business get built first, so you're using it while the rest is still being finished.
