Brand and identity

A logo is the smallest part of it. What you need is a mark that survives being cut into a slipway sign, printed on a jar, and shrunk to 32 pixels in a browser tab, plus a set of rules simple enough that you can apply them yourself on a Tuesday afternoon without ringing anyone.

what you get

  • A wordmark that works small

Most marks are designed at A3 and die at 32 pixels. Yours gets drawn at the sizes it will actually be used at, including the worst one.

  • Colour, type, and the rules for both

Two or three colours, one or two typefaces, and a page saying when to use which. Not a sixty-page brand bible that nobody opens twice.

  • The files, in every format you'll be asked for

Vector and bitmap, and the one the sign writer asks for. Handed over on day one, yours, no licence.

  • Labels, packaging and signage

If it goes on a box, a van, a window or a slipway, it gets drawn for that too, not scaled up from a screen file and hoped for.

  • Applied, not just delivered

Branding on its own is a folder of files. It becomes a brand when it's on the site, the invoice and the door, which is why most people buy this alongside the build.

where we’d say no

If you already have a mark people recognise, we'll usually tell you to keep it and build around it. Rebranding a business that has spent ten years earning recognition is a good way to spend money going backwards, and we'd rather say so before you pay us.

what it costs

Part of Full fit-out: nothing up front, $299 a month. Brand work on its own is quoted to the job.

what people ask

Can I just get a logo?
Yes, though that's a made-to-measure job rather than one of the plans. We'll ask what it's going on before we quote, though, because a mark with nothing applied to it tends to sit in a folder and never become a brand.
Do I own the logo?
Outright, from handover. The brand, the copy and the photographs are yours the day we hand them over, in every format, with no licence and no ongoing fee for the use of your own mark.
How many concepts do I get?
Two or three directions, properly built out and shown on the things they'll live on. Not eight thumbnails to pick between, because narrowing eight down to three is the job you're paying us to have already done.
What if we already have a logo we like?
We keep it. Plenty of jobs here are a good mark badly applied: right logo, wrong colours, four typefaces and a website that agrees with none of it. That's a cheaper fix than a rebrand and it usually works better.
